As the theme for this year's Global Game Jam is "repair," we wanted to brainstorm what we could repair first. We decided that reparation could be both a physical and mental reparation.
To ensure that everybody is participating in the brainstorming sessions, everyone had to write their game concept idea in our brainstorming document and pitch their idea to the group.
After hearing everyone's ideas, we decided that it'd be best if we merged some interesting ideas together. Hence, we started to brainstorm again, this time, as a group, and we came up with the concept of "Medbot."
Keywords: Inside of robot and fixing a robot, Lobot (which eventually turned into "medbot"), Hibot (the robot that the medbot is fixing)
Game structure:
Title screen + Intro dialogue: (story intro)
Level 0: The Dark Room (go to source of sound) - turn on emergency lighting system
Level 1: Brain Room - circuits - Start with black and white vision and gain color vision - restoring the visual/sensor system
Level 2: Motor Room - gears
Level 3: Heart Room - connect the wires to the heart correctly
Outro dialogue: (story outro) + Credit screen
Note: Because of time constraint, we only implemented until level 2, the motor room.
